The Raven
A love story beyond death

An exciting new musical is being created in the heart of
Salt Lake City.

Based on Edgar Allen Poe's poem, "The Raven" is a love story
about a man who will do anything to stop Death from taking
the woman he loves.

Set in 1825 London in an alternate history, The Raven treads the filthy streets where nothing is certain, not even life. Meanwhile high society ignores these undesirables with a flurry of balls and parties. Neither world is fully aware the other exists until Death comes to call.

When Death asks for Lenore, Edgar decides to fight back. He enlists the help of 'the Raven,' a dark haired beauty from the streets, who doesn't know the power she holds over Death. Edgar's plan gets complicated when he starts to fall for this girl. Now he must choose between saving Lenore or the only woman he can touch without killing.

"The Raven" encompasses the colorful world and social division of "Les Miserables" with dark comedic undertones. The musical numbers are reminiscent of Sondheim and encompass a vast range of musical styles from soaring ballads to high energy rock-out ensembles. The book is laden with colorful characters, witty dialogue, and heart-stirring romance.

The book writer and composer are working with actors and artists in the Salt Lake community to produce this work-in-progress. They welcome donations and sponsors to help launch their workshop and staged readings. Updates will be posted on this site on the progress of "The Raven."
